Forest Art Festival in Ladakh 2026Volunteer Team Recruitment Overview

At the foot of a monastery in Matho Village, Ladakh, 6,100 willow trees were planted in collaboration with local villagers. Willow is an essential building material for traditional homes, and thanks to the devoted care of the monks, the trees are growing strong and healthy.

The international art festival, Forest Art Festival (FAF), is a long-term initiative that continues to accompany these trees—witnessing their journey toward becoming a forest through the medium of art.

In 2026, we will expand upon the driftwood sculptures and large-scale earth drawings completed in 2024. Centered around workshops and collaborative creation, the project aims to engage village children, local residents, and participants from Japan and around the world, further developing the festival as an art initiative that connects communities across borders.

For the realization of Forest Art Festival in Ladakh 2026, we are widely recruiting members to join our volunteer team—individuals who will travel to Ladakh and actively participate in the festival.
