ジャミャング・ナムギャル Jamyang Namgail

ツェリング・ユードル、ジャミャング・ナムギャル、チェマット・ドルジェイの3名は、2025年4月に来日し、遊牧民と家畜、野生動物との濃密な関係性を、イマジネーションあふれる絵画作品を通じて伝えました。近代化とともに故郷のラダックでも徐々に失われつつある遊牧民の感性を、壁画にして伝えます。その壁画の中で、近年激減している遊牧民の方のお話に耳を傾けるパフォーマンスを開催する予定です。

プロフィール
美術家　1995年生まれ。ラダックのチャンタン高原で遊牧民の家族に生まれる。誕生はヤクのテントの中だった。遊牧民が暮らす標高4000mほどの自然環境、仏教文化をインスピレーションの源とし、遊牧生活に欠かせない手作りの品々、たとえば羊毛の織物、ヤク毛のテント、精巧な手工芸品、楽器が作品に登場することが特徴である。遊牧民と自然との親密で調和した関係を伝えることをライフワークとする。

In April 2025, three artists—Tsering Youdol, Jamyang Namgyal, and Chemat Dorje—visited Japan, where they conveyed the deep relationships between nomads, livestock, and wildlife through richly imaginative paintings.
As modernization progresses, the sensibilities of nomadic life are gradually being lost even in their homeland of Ladakh. Through a mural, they will seek to preserve and share these perspectives.
Within the space of the mural, they also plan to hold a performance that invites audiences to listen to the voices and stories of nomads, whose numbers have significantly declined in recent years.

Profile
Visual artist. Born in 1995. He was born into a nomadic family on the Changthang Plateau in Ladakh—his birth taking place inside a yak-hair tent. Drawing inspiration from the natural environment at an altitude of around 4,000 meters and from Buddhist culture, his work often features handmade objects essential to nomadic life, such as woolen textiles, yak-hair tents, intricate crafts, and musical instruments. His life’s work is dedicated to conveying the intimate and harmonious relationship between nomadic people and the natural world.
