富松篤　Atsushi TOMATSU

富松篤が2024年にラダック、マトー村の流木で制作したヤク像「導きの森 The Guiding Forest」は、今現在も植樹地の真ん中で木々の成長を見守り、そこを訪れる人々の注目を集めています。この度のFAFでは、村の公立学校の協力を得て、子どもたちへのワークショップを開催。村を流れる川で収集した流木を利用し、参加者全員で一体の生き物を作ります。完成後は植樹地に設置して、ヤクと同様、植樹地を見守る存在となります。

プロフィール
1985年和歌山県生まれ。彫刻家。東京造形大学大学院造形研究科修了。木彫の人物像を中心に制作する中で、浜に漂着した流木の造形に惹かれ、2016年から宮城県石巻、2025年から三浦半島を制作拠点とし、流木を用いた作品を制作。 インド、ヒマラヤ、ラダックの芸術祭「フォレストアートフェスティバル2024」で氷河から流れ出る川の流木を用いてヤクとアイベックスを制作。

The yak sculpture The Guiding Forest, created in 2024 from driftwood collected in Matho Village, Ladakh by Atshushi Tomatsu, still stands at the center of the tree-planting site, watching over the growing trees and drawing the attention of visitors.
For this edition of the Forest Art Festival, with the cooperation of the village’s public school, a workshop will be held for local children. Using driftwood collected from the river that runs through the village, participants will collaboratively create a single creature.
Once completed, the sculpture will be installed at the planting site, where—like the yak—it will serve as a presence that watches over the forest as it grows.

Profile
Born in Wakayama Prefecture in 1985. Sculptor. He completed his Master’s degree in Fine Arts at Tokyo Zokei University. While primarily creating carved wooden human figures, he became deeply drawn to the forms of driftwood washed ashore. Since 2016, he had been based in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, and from 2025 he has been in the Miura Peninsula, where he continues to produce works using driftwood. At the Forest Art Festival 2024 in Ladakh, in the Himalayas, India, he created sculptures of a yak and an ibex using driftwood carried by rivers flowing from glaciers.
